World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2019

22-25Jan 2019
Davos-Klosters, Switzerland

Overview

Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution

The technological, political, economic and societal changes that are underway are not limited to a particular country, industry or issue. The engagement of all stakeholders in sustained dialogue will be crucial, as will the imagination to think systemically and beyond short-term institutional and national considerations. These are the organizing principles of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2019 in Davos-Klosters, which convened over 3'000 participants under the theme, Globalization 4.0: Shaping a New Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Outcomes and Highlights

The programme of over 300 official sessions and 200 community sessions was designed to advance a set of 12 dialogues to shape the global architecture, with bold ideas and exciting opportunities to consider in the year ahead.  Building on this platform, the Annual Meeting recognized a host of impactful and innovative measures – from global initiatives to tackle plastic waste and mental-health drives to facilitate peace in countries besieged by conflict – the success of which hinges on continued commitment of all stakeholders and integrated global action to repair broken trust and uphold dignity for all.
